9:39 am - I guess I need to work at bench pressing more than 65lbs then...
Roj came home from work this morning with 3 huge mirrors from the old weight room at work. We put them upstairs in our weight room, so now it's gonna be like "Pumping Iron" up in this bitch!

9:40 am - Under the needle, and sensing a pattern...
Last Wednesday I got a new tattoo and had an old one completely redone. On Friday Roj went and got a new tattoo (his 6th). On Saturday my friend, Tammy, who works next to a tattoo shop, called to ask whether I thought she would be able to stand the pain of getting her first tattoo. It seems something has got the ink flying around here, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, albeit an expensive one.

Oh, a word of advice. Don't get tattoos on opposing sides of the body on the same day. It makes for 2 nights shitty sleeping minimum.

10:46 am - Funny shorts...check. Camelback..check..Nice day...ummm.
The rain has abated for the moment, so I'm suited up to go ride my bike. That would be my bicycle this time. Although I may take my SVS out later too, if the weather behaves itself, since I haven't ridden it in months. Until then, I'm off to go burn my legs out. Maybe I'm weird, but I love it after a long bike ride when your muscles are all pumped up and it feels funny when you walk. Yeah, that's what I thought.

P.S. I got the new Coldplay album the other day. I really really like it. Not my normal musical genre at all, but quite good nonetheless. Y'all should check it out.

2:18 am - 10 second update...
~Watching Tour de France 2005. Thanks to my husband I love this. I eagerly await it's return every summer, this time is no different.

~MotoGP AND AMA Superbike at Laguna Seca later today. I must find a way to get off work an hour early, so I can come home and watch it on SPEED. If I miss the GP race I'll be forever scarred I know it. Nicky Hayden, John Hopkins and Colin Edwards all doing excellent with their qualifying times. Somebody beat Valentino Rossi, please?

~Hurricane Dennis is set to drop some shitty weather on us tomorrow. Joy. Thinking about [info]evan712,[info]evilegg[info]project_mayhem and [info]sebatical who will have to endure the storm as well. Albeit closer than I have to. You guys be careful!

~I believe this update is putting me to sleep. I can only imagine what it's doing to y'all.

8:49 pm - Home sweet home...
Well, we made it back from Tennessee in one piece. Or would that be two pieces since we were a pair? Anyhoo, [info]zanshin and I had a really great time. It was nice going riding all day then coming back to the hotel, getting cleaned up and heading out for a nice dinner just the two of us. Gatlinburg is the worst kind of tourist hellhole, but it has it's charms as well. Namely a wicked cool magic shop where Roj and I spent a lot of time and even more money. Yes, that's your geek alarm going off. Now pick a card, any card.
It's official, the Honda Hoot has turned LAME-O. I thought we were at the (Gold)Wing Ding. I'm glad Roj didn't pre-register us this year. We just paid $15 each to get into the vendor show and, if I hadn't scored some cool new t-shirts and a travel size Kleer-Vu for my tank bag, I'd have said we were ripped off. One cool thing is that we were able to meet up with our friend, Ron, from Missouri. He's an older gentleman we met during the Hoot 3 years ago. He met us at our hotel Friday morning and we went on a ride to Cherokee N.C. where we had lunch, then we hit the Blue Ridge Parkway for a bit. He had a long haul back home the next day, as did we, so we kept it kind of tame. We made it a point to ride through The Dragon (Deal's Gap, Hwy 129) one more time on our way home. It was a longer route but so worth it. Besides, we got to stop at Wheeler's Performance and Roj bought a new Icon helmet with cool skulls all over it. He threw his old Shoei (formerly my old Shoei) RF-900 in a pile of shop trash with a sad look on his face. I told him if it didn't fit his big noggin anymore it sure as hell wouldn't fit anyone elses, so it was better off in the garbage. :-)

All fun aside, there is nothing like being home and sleeping in your own bed.

9:02 am - Great, now my stomach is all gurgly...
We're leaving on our trip to Tennessee later today. The bikes are packed, we're ready to go. So, of course, my stomach is all in an uproar because, apparantly, I'm not supposed to get excited about anything. It always does this. I don't care if it's a small little event. If I'm the least bit looking forward to it, I get all bloaty with a nervous stomach. What kind of fucked up physiology is that?

10:57 pm - Gatlinburg, the Honda Hoot and other miscellaneous crap...
Two days until Roj and I leave for Tennessee. It appears the Cop Gods can be as dicky as cops themselves. Roj is currently in charge of his shift and random crap keeps happening; possibly fucking our Wednesday morning departure time. No!! *whine* The weather report is also pretty sketchy, but I'm hoping, praying and crossing all my fingers and toes that it turns out well for us. It's one thing to put up with rain, but quite another entirely to put up with rain on a motorcycle trip. *double whine* I debated on whether I should ride my SV or the GSX-R, and decided on the Gixxer. I love my SV and she's got a lot of mods and stuff, but it would be like choosing between a tricked out Eclipse or a stock Corvette. In the end the Corvette's just cooler. Besides, It'll be easier to keep up with Roj if I'm on the faster bike. ;-)

On a totally unrelated note, has anyone been following that television show about the greatest Americans? I haven't, but I saw something earlier about Ronald Reagan being in the top 5. It's official. Our nation has lost it's fucking mind. Yeah, yeah. Tell you something you didn't know.

6:09 pm - How not to go missing in Aruba, or anywhere else...
After I made one of my trademark snarky sarcastic comments regarding "Rich Blonde Girl Missing in the Caribbean", I had a somewhat heated conversation with a coworker. Taken down to it's bare minimum, the jist was this.

Coworker: "Whatever. I think it's too bad. Noone should have to get killed."

Me: "Well, if you're gonna ride off into the night with 3 dudes you barely know, then you deserve everything you have coming to you."

Coworker" "Hmpf." *idle face making and shoulder shrug emphasizing what an insensitive bitch I am*

Give me a break. I didn't have a car until I graduated high school, so during my teen years I walked. I walked to school, to work, to the library, the drugstore and bookstore. If I wanted to be somewhere, I had to walk there. Being a lone female, I was approached by strangers in their cars on a number of occasions. Most offered me a lift, while some asked to take me out or wanted my phone number. Suffice it to say, I never accepted rides, went out on a date or gave my name or number to any of these people. It just wasn't a good, sane idea to do so. And would you look at that? I'm alive. Go figure.

The saddest part of the story is that in some back room somewhere, there is a media executive thanking the heavens and beating off over this whole thing. The perfect tragic event that can fill countless hours of air time on a network, or pages of a magazine/newspaper.

10:15 am - Croak!
I woke up Thursday with a sore throat. Now, 48 hours of icubation time later, I really feel like crap. My throat still hurts, I'm coughing and I've got pressure inside my head making it feel like the side of my skull are going to crack. I don't really want to go to work but it's a crap rainy day out which means I stand to make good money in tips. We are usually busier on rainy days and people feel sorry for you. I might see if I can take off early when another driver comes in. *dies laughing* Yeah, that's gonna happen.

In other news, [info]zanshin has someone coming to look at, and possibly buy, the BMW today. If this guy doesn't get it, another one is interested and may come tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed!

10:01 am - Little Miss Wiggly Buns...
[info]zanshin came home from work this morning...with a kitten. :-)

She's a gorgeous stripey bobtail. Roj first saw her when he was dispatched to a house for a harrassment call or something last week. The owner had 6 cats total and, noticing how the kitten liked Roj and vice versa, offered her to him. Because she has no tail, when she's excited her little nub spins in a circle.

10:21 am - Heart of glass...
What a great weekend so far! Yesterday I was out of the house by 7:30am to go to a huge sale at Jinger's Stained Glass. It was so awesome, I've never seen anything like it. There were about 40+ crates arranged around the yard with every color and style of glass you could imagine. Every 12"x12" piece was only $4.00! For all you non-glass dorks out there, that's cheap. All glass is not created equal. Because of the chemical compounds used to give it color, certain glass is more expensive than others. Not to mention if it has iridium coatings or other fancy stuff. I ended up with 50 sheets of glass and a nice wooden crate to store them in. I also bought a foiler, which is dispenser that perfectly centers the copper foil around each piece of cut glass, so I don't have to futz with it by hand! It was a really fun morning and I didn't even mind that I had to go to work afterwards.

11:49 am - MIDI evil...
I was just on the phone with a company whose 'on hold' music is in MIDI format. Amazingly, I listened to a large part of Kansas' Dust In the Wind without jamming a pencil in my ear. I haven't heard a comparible "good song made bad" since the MIDI version of She by the Misfits.

10:18 am - It's the double dutch bus coming down the street........
I'm going outside to jump rope. That's right, bitches, I said jump rope.

;-)

The fucking dogs keep getting out of the fence and roaming around the fucking neighborhood, only to come home and find some fucking thing to strew all over the yard. Roj's lab jumps the fence while my bassett hound wiggles under. Sometimes they get out just to come around front and lay on the patio. Fuckers.

9:04 am - Where's Waldo?
Once again it appears that Julia has fallen into a pit and therefore not updated her journal. This is not the case however, I've just been avoiding you. No! Just kidding.

Cailley Fern's kindergarten graduation is Wednesday. I can't believe it's over all ready. My dad always told me that time flies faster the older you get. I'm starting to believe him.

Had a nice ride with [info]zanshin yesterday morning, even if it was just to work. It's official. My SVS is slow. It's amazing how quickly one gets accustomed to high performance. Even though the GSX-R is pretty cruel on my hands, I love that power. If I didn't have so much money invested in mods for my (slow ass) bike, I'd seriously consider selling her. :-(

It's Monday. I can't concentrate. The sun is out, the birds are chirping, the pool is sparkling clear. I guess I'll catch you cats later.

P.S. Saw an interesting film last night called What the Bleep Do We Know? I thought it was cool. All quantum physics and our effect on reality stuff. Y'all should check it out.

6:33 pm - Like a rocket from the crypt...
Spent 5 hours on the phone this morning with, Alisha, my best girlfriend from high school. Life got in the way and we hadn't been in touch with each other for the last 10 years. She found [info]invalidsavant on MySpace.com and got my number. It's really bizarre to me how I have friends that I can not see or talk to for extended periods of time, but when we do get together, it's never uncomfortable or awkward. And it never feels like years since we last spoke. *shrugs*
I went and got an account at MySpace, as well. Yet another internet pursuit I can neglect for days at a time.
Speaking of [info]invalidsavant, that bastard (I say that affectionately and with respect) was over until 4am this morning. I had to get up at 7am to get Cailley Fern off to school and now I feel like a whipped turd. As if a plain turd weren't bad enough.

I just put on a pair of shorts I haven't worn since last summer. There was $22 in the back pocket. Right on! I do that shit all the time, but usually with jacket pockets. Either way, I ain't complaining.
